If you have grown up in a westernized culture then you have probably been programmed like the rest of us, to believe that we have to consume high amounts of protein in our diets or we will wither away to nothing.. This myth has been programmed into us starting at an early age by the meat and dairy lobbyists to advance their financial agenda.

If you have followed any of the main stream diets like Atkins, Paleo and many others then you probably know what I am talking about. Most of these programs/diets advise that we should eat 0.8 – 1 gram of protein for every lb of lean body mass… So if you weigh 170 lbs and your ideal lean body weight is 150 lbs then you should set your daily protein consumption at 140-150 grams. The latest independent study done by T. Colin Campbell PHD show that this is very dangerous.

In “The China Study” T. Colin Campbell PHD (Biochemist) and his son Thomas M. Campbell II MD show that if an individual consumes to much protein (20% of calories) in their diet (especially casein which is the main protein in dairy) they turn on cancer tumor grow. But if the individual drops the protein consumption back down to 5-10% of daily calories consumed, it is no longer a threat because it turns cancer tumor growth back off.

T. Colin Campbell also states that if the majority of your daily proteins come from whole food plants the risk drops significantly. So according to the scientific data they have gathered over the years in the biggest Asian cultural study ever done to date. We can clearly see that if we want to lower our risk of cancer then we should be eating way less protein (between 5 and 10% of our daily calorie consumption).
